Miami to Nassau December 2003

Recap of our activities

July 2002 to December 2003

So let me try to recap the past year and a half.
At the end of July 2002, Dave and I sailed into Miami. We returned from our first try to get to the Caribbean. We anchored in Dinner Key, Biscayne Bay, then moved into the marina.
We decided to work and stay in Florida while waiting for our daughter's wedding.

This year I have had many opportunities to travel. In March, I was able to go to Italy to see my daughter Laura and her fiance Cristian and attend his graduation. He graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering.

In May, my son, David and Laura and Cristian flew to Miami. We visited Orlando, JFK Space Center and family. We went sailing and to the Everglades. We had a wonderful Easter at my cousin Joey and Cheryl's.

In May, I went to St. Martin with my friend Cindy and her daughter. I was also checking out the anchorages in the bays for when we sail there. In July, I went to New York with my sister Joanne and went to a wedding in the Botanical Gardens in Brooklyn. Enjoyed seeing family and had a great time in the City.

In September, Dave went to Sacramento to see his mom Bea who had bypass surgery . She is doing very well. He then went to Reno to see friends and had a great visit.

In October, Dave and I and Toni went to Sardinia, Italy for my daughter's wedding. She was a beautiful bride and Cri was very handsome. It was a wonderful wedding and reception. While in Sardinia, we saw many fascinating places and ate so many interesting and delicious Italian dishes.

In November, we went to Las Vegas, Reno and Sacramento to say our farewells to family and friends and really had a wonderful time seeing everyone again. We then returned to Miami to get Sorrento ready for our journey. We have enjoyed the friends we have made in Miami and hope someday to see them sailing or visiting us, in the islands.
