And the Adventure Continues!

After being "land lubbers' for almost 7 months, we decided it was time to head back to the Sorrento in Florida, and continue our adventures to ports unknown.

We decided to drive across the country leaving Las Vegas in late February, visiting the Grand Canyon, and enjoyed the sights as we took our time travelling. We arrived in Orlando, visited with relatives, and then David went on to check out and work on the Sorrento. Davitts were installed (hurrah) as well as a new windless, as the other one went caput! The only difference is now the anchor will have to be cranked up, instead of using power. The good news is the new chain fits better and actually falls into the chain locker ! David also put in a new depth sounder (much needed) , and had work to do on the generator.

Our plans are : - My sister Jo arrived on March 19th and together, we will visit relatives in Miami and Palm Beach. Then Dave & I will take the Sorrento on a 'shake down' cruise to see how everything is working. We then plan to sail to Miami and wait for a weather window before heading out. To the Bahamas, the Turks & Caicos, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico,and then on to the Virgin Islands, before island hopping down the Leeward and Windward Islands. We hope to be in Trindidad before the hurricanes strike.
