back to Florida

May 26, 2001 -We've arrived In the Bahamas!

Here we are in beautiful Nassau.! It really was a wonderful trip over from Miami, Key Biscanyne. It took us 18 hours to get to our first destination of Gunn Bay in the southern Bimini Islands. We spent a few days there enjoying the beautiful waters and delicious lobsters.

We travelled from Gunn Cay to Chubb Cay over the shallow Grand Bahama Banks (12 to 18 feet), which was like a giant, 76 mile long, swimming pool ! Then we had a full day's journey to Nassau and now we are currently enjoying the sights of this wonderful island.

In a few days we will head off to Eleuthera which is about 33 miles north east of here. We'll travel the length of the Island which is 100 miles long.

Will let you k now when we reach our next destination.

June 7, 2001 -We are Enjoying Eleuthera

We are enjoying Eleuthera or Lutra as the locals call it. Have been hopping the Island and having fun. We have been caving ,crabbing and enjoying the company of fellow cruisers we met here.

The water temp is 85 and the air 85. The fish and lobster plentiful. We have found cliffs to climb that come out to the ocean through underpasses and caves and just been enjoying life here in the Bahama Islands.

We are planning to head north to the Abacos and work our way west to Florida. Sounds strange. We hope to see you all when we get to the States in Aug through Oct. Miss you all hope you are all well.
