Clement Sr's will has been found in England. It would appear that
his wife was dead at the time of the writing of the will as no mention is
made of her. Clement and his wife had Agnes, Alice, Clement, Gregorie, Margaret
and John.

In the name of God Amen, this twenty first day of March in the
second year of the reign of Edward VI of England, France, and Ireland, Defender
of the Faith, and on earth of the Church of England and Ireland Supreme
Head. I, Clement Cornynge, of Saundby in the County of Nottinghamshire,
husband man, being of whole mind and in perfect remembrance, laud and praise
be therefore rendered and given to Almighty God my Maker, Creator, and Redeemer,
do make, ordain, and constitute this my Last Will and Testament in manner
and form following:
First, I bequeath my soul to the everlasting and omnipotent Lord. My
body to be buried within the parish church of Saundby, beseeching Him of
His infinite mercy and goodness that it may be and endure by His pleasure
with Him and the Blessed Company of His Holy Saints, I will constitute,
ordain, and bequeath that on the day of my burial, my executors shall distribute,
give and bestow amongst the poor people of the parish a certain sum of money
and goods with the intent that they pray for my soul according by them shall
be thought meet, convenient, expedient, and necessary and according to the
form, meaning, and intent of my Last Will and Testament. I bequeath to the
High Altar of the said church for tithes and obligations forgotten, unremembered,
and overlooked, 12 pence. To the common box of the said church for the use
of the poor people of the town 12 pence.
I give, will, and bequeath to Agnes Cornynge, one of my daughters,
£26 -13s - 4d. I give, will, and bequeath to Roger Naylor, my son-in-law
£6 -13s-4d. I give, will, and bequeath to Clement Naylor, my grandson,
£6 -13s-4d. I give, will, and bequeath to Alice Naylor, my grand- daughter,
£6 -13-4d. I give, will, and bequeath to William Naylor , my grandson,
£2-13s-4d. I give, will, and bequeath to John Cornynge, my nephew,
£14--0s-0d. I give, will, and bequeath to William Cornynge, my nephew,
£7-0s-0d. I give, will, and bequeath to John Cornynge, my son, £7-0s-0d.
I give, will, and bequeath to William Sympson, parson of Saundby Church
10s-0d to pay the receipt of the money to five honest men of the said town
as he shall be bound to pay and disburse the said money at all such time
or times as the said parson will think convenient and necessary to the profit
and commodity of the common wealth of the said town.
I give, will, and bequeath to Clement Cornynge, my eldest son, one messuage
and two ox gang of land and all other lands, tenements, rents, renditions,
and services with the appurtenances, profits and commodities to the same
belonging, or appertaining, settling, and being in the town and place of
Gainsborough within the County of Lincolnshire, the which of late were in
the tenure, holding, and occupation of William Dixon, together with one
messuage or house in the said town, with a close with the appurtenances
now being in the tenure of Humphrey Fisher. And also one messuage or house
with an ox gang of land and three acres of meadow with the appurtenances
settling and being within the said town and place of Gainsborough with the
appurtenances, with all and singular the profits and commodities to the
same belonging or in any wise appertaining, now being in the tenure, holding,
and occupation of Richard Garth. Also one cottage with the appurtenances
in the said town now being in the tenure and occupation of John Martin to
have and to hold all the said messuage, land , tenements rents, renditions
and services with the appurtenances to the said Clement Cornynge, and his
heirs forever.
I give, will, and bequeath to Gregorie Cornynge, my younger son, one
messuage and two ox gang of land with all the lands, tenements, rents, renditions,
and services, closes, meadows, and pastures with their appurtenances, and
will all and singular the profits and commodities to the same belonging.
Setting and being within the town of Gainsborough and now being in the tenure
and occupation of Thomas Bracton. I will, give, and bequeath to the said
Gregorie Cornynge, half an ox gang of land lying within the place of the
said town of Gainsborough and now being in the tenure and occupation of
Edward Copliss.
I also give will, and bequeath to the said Gregorie Cornynge, on cottage
and garden will all appurtenances lying within the said town of Gainsborough
and of late being in the tenure and occupation of Daniel Clones. To have
and to hold all the said messuage and two ox gang of land with all the
land, tenements, rents, renditions, and services, closes, meadows, and pastures
with all other premises with their appurtenances to the said Gregorie Cornynge,
and to the heirs of the body of Gregorie Cornynge lawfully begotten.
The residue of all my goods and cattle not given, devised, or bequeathed,
I give and bequeath to the said Clement and Gregorie Cornynge whom I ordain
and constitute to be my full and whole executors of this my present and
last Will and Testament. Also I will that my said executors shall pay or
cause to be paid any person or persons all such debts and duties or demands
which I, the said Clement Cornynge, ought of right to pay to the said persons
or to any one of them if I continued to live in this mortal and transitory
life. Also I ordain and bequeath my well beloved in Christ, Hugh Granell
and Richard Foster, my supervisors of this my Last Will and Testament, and
they to have either of them 6s-8d in witness whereof I have delivered this
present writing to the said Hugh Granell as my Last Will and Testament in
the presence of these persons-William Sympson, Clark, and John Coplin.
